PTS (Pierides TechnoSystems S.A.), a leading Broadcast  Systems Integrator in Greece and Cyprus, has successfully delivered a Turn-Key High Definition Television System   for Thessalia TV, enabling the broadcaster’s full transition from SD to HD operations.

The project marks a major milestone in the technological evolution of Thessalia TV, the leading regional broadcaster of Central Greece, significantly enhancing production quality, operational efficiency, and on-air reliability through a fully integrated, future-ready broadcast infrastructure.

As the main systems integrator, PTS oversaw the complete design, supply, integration, and commissioning of the new HD environment. The solution includes a modern continuity and playout system based on the Vector3 VectorBox Channel – Channel in a Box, ensuring stable and automated channel operations.

Core broadcast infrastructure was strengthened with a Ross Video Ultrix FR5 routing platform, Ross Video OpenGear modular infrastructure, and LeaderPhabrix test and measurement and Reference and Test Patterns Generation systems, delivering flexible signal management, system resilience, and end-to-end quality control.

For news production and content workflows, PTS implemented Editshare Flow MAM and PAM combined with Editshare EFS production storage, enabling centralized media management, collaborative production, and scalable workflows.   News-production operations are supported by Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve editing workstations, while Vector3 InOut systems handle news ingest and studio playout.

The production studio was fully upgraded to HD standards and equipped with Panasonic AW-UE80 PTZ cameras, a Ross Video Carbonite Ultra 3 M/E production switcher, and XPression Prime graphics generation system, providing Thessalia TV with advanced live production capabilities and enhanced visual storytelling tools.

With the completion of the project, Thessalia TV now operates a fully integrated HD broadcast environment, delivering improved picture quality, streamlined workflows, and a superior viewing experience. The upgrade reflects PTS’s commitment to delivering reliable, high-performance broadcast solutions and supports Thessalia TV’s ongoing mission to provide high-quality regional news and programming to audiences across Central Greece.
